If your classroom does not have tile floor...
      • Pre-assessment of lesson 1:
You might want to prepare the figures made of tiles on butcher paper or large grid paper to put them on the floor and pretend that they are made of real tiles.
      • Launch of lesson 1:
You might need to prepare butcher paper with a grid that represents tiles so students can measure the area of certain objects.
      Lesson 2:
Teachers should be aware that describing their bedroom could be embarrassing to some of their students. You may want to allow them to describe a friend's / cousin's / or TV show character's bedroom instead of their own in the launch of lesson 2. You may use this grid paper template for printouts.

Lesson 3: Teacher Resource Sheet 6
There is a typo in the answer key of of Part B (page 1). The last sentence should say: "10 < 16, so Figure B has the least area".

Resource Sheet 10 does not have an answer key.  The answers in square units follow: 1) 9      2) 11     3) 12    4) 8
