QuickConnect is a software application that you can install on your computer and use to access the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) from your desktop. It connects live to the Florida Standards Database (www.floridastandards.org) and retrieves the up to date information on the standards. It requires active internet connection and works on Windows and Mac. QuickConnect is one of the tools created by project CPALMS.
This application is designed to be used for a quick and easy way to search and find benchmarks and related information. The application is very small in size and is a very quick way to search for a benchmark number or keyword any time you want or would like to look one up. You will always get the up-to-date information.
QuickConnect is compatible with all major operating systems (such as Windows and Mac OS) and is built on the Adobe Air platform. Adobe Air plugin is required to install QuickConnect but it installed during the same time when you are installing QuickConnect.
Installing QuickConnect might require administrative access to the computer you are installing it on. Please follow these steps to install QuickConnect:
Click "Yes". QuickConnect runs using Adobe AIR. If you have problems loading Adobe Air, please visit www.adobe.com and install it. Your computer might skip this step if you already have AIR installed.
Please wait for a few minutes before you click on "Try Again" while the application downloads the necessary files. The application might take a few minutes based on your internet speed. Once the application finishes downloading, you will see the following screen.
Click "Install" to start installing the software. You might require administrative access to continue.
Check all boxes and "Continue". Check all the check boxes and choose the location to install the application. The default location is within your program files.
Click "I Agree" to continue or "Cancel" to decline.
You do not have to do anything on this screen. The application will install by itself and closes when the process is complete.
Congratulations! You can start using QuickConnect. To access it again, you just need to go to your programs list or the icon on your desktop.
